- Login to Webcat
- Select Personal Information
- Select View/Update Personal Information
- Select the pencil icon under Address to edit
- Click Update

Preferred Name
Students may indicate a preferred first name that will appear in various platforms at UNH. The preferred first name will be used in the places listed below, regardless of whether or not you have legally changed your name. To change your name legally, go to Legal Name Change.
The usage of preferred first name at UNH is an ongoing process. Additional processes will continue to be evaluated.
Note: Staff with an administrative need (e.g., police, health, and financial services; Deans’ office staff, IT Support Staff) will see both legal and preferred first names. Similar to GPAs and other sensitive information, these staff are trained on the implications of this access.

Steps to Indicate your Preferred Name
- Login to Webcat.
- Select 'Personal Information'.
- Select 'View/Update Personal Information'.
- In 'Personal Details' select the pencil icon to update a Preferred First Name.
- Please remember to select update to ensure that your preferences have been saved.
The preferred first name update may take 24-hours before changes appear in the system.
*UNH Email
- Students that indicate a preferred first name prior to receiving an @3588612.com email account have the following email alias: PreferredFirstName.LastName@3588612.com.
- Students that indicate a preferred first name after receiving an @3588612.com email account must submit a request to have their email alias updated. Email alias update request steps.
If you have designated a preferred first name and it is not used/displayed somewhere you feel it should be based on the information provided above, you may request the change by completing the request process.

Pronouns
myWildcat Success (EAB Navigate) has a pronouns option under 'User Preferences.' Students and other users can select personal pronouns for display to other users. Please visit the Knowledge Base article for instructions on selecting pronouns in myWildcat Success.

Student Directory
The UNH Student Directory requires a UNH login and displays student name and UNH email address*. If a student would like to have their name and email address omitted from the Student Directory, they must complete and submit a Prevent Disclosure of Information Request form.
